HALO Air Ambulance is calling their newest fundraising initiative a ‘game-changer’ and something that could secure long-term financial relief for the organization.
In a CHAT News exclusive, HALO revealed that they will be launching the first annual HALO Lottery which will run from March through November 2021 in partnership with Highline Angus.
The 2021 HALO Cattle ‘er Cash Lottery will see 3,000 tickets made available for $100 each with the grand prize being either 20 bred heifers or $50,000 in cash.
Early projections forecast revenues from the lottery for HALO coming in around $200,000, with the potential to exponentially grow over the coming years.
HALO Air Ambulance came close to permanently shutting its doors in May of 2020, as a result of fundraising challenges from the pandemic and little movement on funding coming from the provincial government.
Through a number of community fundraisers and large scale donations however, HALO was able to keep full medevac operations running while still waiting for the results of the province’s Helicopter Emergency Medical Services review.
People will be able to purchase tickets for the lottery beginning on Thursday, with links to the lottery being located on HALO’s website.
