A lot has changed at the fast food giant over the years including the iconic packaging and that is set to change again in 2021.
The company refreshes their look every decade and this new package design will be rolling out around the world soon.
Design company Pearlfisher worked with McDonald’s to produce what they say is a “cheerful, uniformed look that was still able to visually represent the individual food items in each box, wrapper, and carton.”
Each package is a visual representation of the food inside. Blue waves for a fillet-o-fish, dripping cheese for the quarter pounder and an egg yolk for the breakfast sandwich.
“With evocative, easy-to-understand graphics, McDonald’s’ new packaging is recognizable regardless of where in the world orders are being assembled, shared and enjoyed.”
The redesign has taken over 4 years and the company says one of the other ideas was to make sure they were recognizable around the world regardless of language.
