Let the music play and dance your cares away…Fraggle Rock is making its way back to TV, well to Apple TV.
After making its debut in 1983 the show quickly became a cult classic but only lasted five seasons before creator Jim Henson decided to pull the plug.
There have been several attempts to reboot the series over the years including a short lived 13 episode series on 1987 and two seasons produced for hulu. Several feature length movies were also pitched with none managing to get off the ground.
In 2020 Apple TV announced they had acquired the rights to stream the original series and would be releasing a few new original shorts.
Now they have announced the news that a brand new series will be coming to the streaming services and it will be filmed right here in Canada. The original series was also filmed in Canada although production has now moved from Toronto to the Calgary Film Centre.
Two original cast members are also coming back for the reboot to lend their voices and muppet skills to some of the most beloved characters from the show.
While no release date has been set yet it might be a reason to add yet another streaming service to your collection.
