Imagine winning the lottery…what would you do first? What would you spend it on? Would you save it or spend it all? Now think about what you would do if you won the lottery twice..in the same draw..with the same numbers.
That’s exactly what happened to an Alberta man in a recent Lotto 6/49 draw. He accidentally bought two tickets for the draw but because he has been playing the same numbers for years he bought two tickets with the same numbers…the winning numbers.
He has been buying his tickets from the same store for years and after checking the first one and finding out it was a winner the clerk jokingly suggested they check the other..identical..ticket which was another winner.
Not only that he had the only winning numbers in the draw so technically had to split the winnings with himself. $2.5 million dollars per ticket.
The very lucky winner says he plans to work on restoring an old Land Rover and maybe do some travelling. Good news for the rest of us, he says he will be retiring from playing to give the rest of us a chance.
