We’ve known for a little while that Disney has been planning to launch their own streaming service to compete with Netflix but now we know what it’s going to be called. Drum roll………..Disney +. That must have taken a crack team of brain stormers.
The service will launch in late 2019 so far just in the US but no doubt it will be in Canada not long after that. The plan is to force you to sign up for their service if you want to get any of their content as they are ending their contract with Netflix. That means you will need Disney + for things like Disney classics, Pixar movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Star Wars films.
They also announced new content available only their platform including a Star Wars spin off series, Marvel’s Loki series, more High School Musical and a possible Monsters Inc movie or TV show.
