There was a lot to take in as cannabis became legal in Canada but one thing a lot of people noticed was the packaging and how excessive it was for small amounts of product.
For those who are worried about these excesses and what to do with it there is good news. It’s all recyclable…with a catch. Some towns and city recycling won’t take certain items in their programs. Fear not though two companies are teaming up to make sure every bit of the packaging can be easily recycled.
Tweed and TerraCycle have created a recycling program which is FREE for all Canadians to use regardless of where you live. Drop off boxes will be set up in stores that sell Tweed products and there is also a postal service where people can download a shipping label and send them in for free (after registering)
TerraCycle is encouraging people to recycle the packaging locally where possible to reduce carbon emissions from shipping.
I haven’t been to one of our stores yet to find out if we have Tweed products or if the hat can recycle all of the packaging..but I am on a mission to find out. If you have any info you can email it to firstname.lastname@example.org
