As much as it is tradition for Starbucks to put out a range of holiday cups it’s a tradition for people to find someway to be offended by them. Maybe they have managed to come out with the perfect designs this year as people actually seem to be happy with them..or at least haven’t found anything to be offended by yet.
The company says the designs are supposed to give drinkers a “Christmas In A Cup” feeling. They also have some new holiday drinks to help with this. This year’s cups even have names and deep (for a coffee chain) inspiration.
Their “Stargyle” cup is supposed to represent a holiday sweater as well as incorporate stars that have been used in the company’s designs in store and as part of their logo since the beginning.
The “Espresso Houndstooth” is meant to give you the feeling of sitting around a fire place with its red and white pattern design.
“Flora” features the red berries of the holly plant and the coffee cherry plant
Then they walked a fine line. The final cup is a two toned red cup similar to that plain red one that caused a controversy storm in 2015. I’m still not too sure how people were offended by that one.
If you are wondering what you can fill them with this year their winter drink offerings include White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte and the Eggnog Latte.
The cups have only been out for 2 days so there could be some complaints on the way but until then drink and be merry
