There has been a lot of talk recently about “short man syndrome” being an actual thing. One of the main discoveries from the study found that short men tend to be angrier and even more violent. As someone who is on the shorter side of average I was angry about this news. See what I did there? Okay I wasn’t really angry but I wanted to find out if there were any benefits to being short and indeed there are.
Short people live longer:
Research suggested those men below 5′ 4 live an average of 2 years longer than those ‘tallies” Shorter women also live longer and in fact the worlds oldest living humans (right now) are women just over 5ft.
Shorter men make better husbands:
Women were asked to pic from pictures of men of different heights for their perfect long time partner..and they were all shorter
Sadly that’s about where it ends in terms of research though. According to studies taller men earn more money, are likely to have higher intelligence, more likely to be good fathers and in general “live happier lives’
However with my own personal life research there are some overlooked benefits. We don’t have to bend down as far when we drop things, we are more comfortable on planes and no one ever says ‘how’s the weather up there’. I’m taking that as a win
