Remember your first aid training…nope neither do I. One of things I always forget is what speed you are supposed to do CPR compressions. Tankfully the New York Presbyterian Hospital is here to help with a Spotify playlist of songs with the tempo you are supposed to use.
There are a couple of issues though, firstly you have to remember how fast the song is if you don’t have your Spotify playlist handy and you still have to remember how many compressions to breathes (it’s 30:2 according to Google). Still anything that can help in a medical emergency is a good thing!
Some of the songs you can use to save a life include:
Something Just Like This
Chainsmokers & Coldplay
Rumor Has It
Gives You Hell
All American Rejects
and my favourites:
The Bee Gees
Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)
I Will Survive
Suddenly I See
The hospital says they keep the playlist updated whenever new popular songs come out with the correct tempo (100bpm if you are interested). See the full playlist here
They also have a website on how to perform CPR which you can find here
Looking at the list you can hear pretty much all of them on my96 so it’s a good idea to turn and the volume and listen to us everywhere you go…who knows..we might help you save a life
